Cardiovascular Disease
Medical nutrition therapy for cardiovascular risk reduction and disease management. Whether you're managing high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, or an existing cardiovascular condition, nutrition can play an important role in improving cardiometabolic health and reducing the risk of future complications.
What we support.
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)
- Dyslipidemia, including elevated LDL cholesterol and triglycerides
- Cardiovascular disease, in coordination with your cardiology team
- Prediabetes, insulin resistance, and elevated blood glucose
- Family history of cardiovascular disease and other cardiometabolic risk factors
- Nutrition-related risk factors identified through medical history or laboratory results
How we approach care.
Medical nutrition therapy is individualized based on your medical history, laboratory results, current health status, and treatment goals. Care focuses on improving modifiable cardiovascular risk factors through personalized nutrition interventions informed by established dietary guidelines and clinical evidence.
When appropriate, laboratory results are reviewed to help guide nutrition recommendations and assess progress. With your consent, I coordinate with your physician, cardiologist, and broader healthcare team to support continuity of care.
Nutrition can meaningfully improve several cardiovascular risk factors as part of comprehensive medical care. However, nutrition is not a replacement for prescribed medications or cardiology treatment, particularly when genetic, medical, or other non-lifestyle factors contribute to cardiovascular risk.
